Parker and Campbell, you are officially 8 months old! This has been a big month for you two-you became big brothers! How many 8 month old babies can say that?!
Here’s a little bit about the two of you together: you really interact with one another now. When you two are sitting in the bumpos to eat, you will look at each other and just start laughing. Usually we have no idea what you are laughing about, but you will both start giggling and start reaching to touch each other. I guess it’s your own private twin language!
Cambo is our chunky monkey and weighs almost 20 pounds. P, you aren’t far behind, but Cambo is more solid. You are both wearing 9-12 months in clothes and drink 6-7 ounce bottles.
Speaking of touching each other, you always seem to be touching. In the bumpo, one of you will reach to touch the other. If you are on the floor, someone is grabbing a leg or arm. Campbell, you usually try to eat one of Parker’s limbs! These episodes often lead to one of you crying because you take a finger to the eye or get rolled on. I’m sure it’s just the first of many fights!
I love coming in your room in the mornings when you are both awake. The two of you will be in there laughing and babbling to one another and it’s the sweetest thing!
Parker man, I say this repeatedly, but you are our sweet little soul. You lay with us and look up and smile and snuggle as long as we let you. When we are holding you and smile, you will duck your head and give a bashful smile and bury your face against us. I love how sweet and snuggly you are! When Gigi walks in the door or we come to pick you up, you start kicking your arms and legs and squeal. And you can squeal-I feel like the neighbors can hear you some days! When really get going when Daddy and Carson are wrestling-we aren’t sure if you think they are being injured or you want to join in.
You have changed so much this month and are very active now. You are rolling on your stomach and stay there to play, which you hated before. You can almost sit by yourself, but you aren’t 100 percent stable yet. Campbell used to eat twice as much as you did, but you have passed him in the eating department. You are eating baby food like a champ! You like every vegetable you have tried, but fruits tend to make you shiver and your face puckers up (except bananas). I wish I felt the same about veggies!
You still aren’t a great napper and it’s hit or miss-sometimes it’s two hours and sometimes it’s two short naps. Can we work on that please, mister?! When you do sleep, you are always on your back and your arms are above your head. You have also started to like a paci, but you mostly chew on it. We are guessing some teeth may appear soon.
Parker man, it’s impossible to be around you and not feel loved because you give the best snuggles and smiles. I pray you continue to make people feel this way as you grow up!
Campbell, you had a big month too with the appearance of your first tooth! The first one came in on the bottom and a second one appeared right after. You weren’t really fussy, but you wouldn’t eat as much, which we aren’t used to with you!
You are SO close to crawling-you go on your heads and knees and rock back and forth, but you haven’t moved forward yet. You move your hands side to side or scoot backwards, so you are mobile. Anything you can touch goes in your mouth, so we are constantly picking up so you don’t eat things like phone cords or legos.
Parker loves to sit and observe, but you are always on the move; even when sitting stationary in the bumpo, you are moving your arms and legs. If you are on our lap, you flip over and start jumping. If you are this active as a toddler, we will be chasing you constantly. You still love the jumper and jump so much that we can’t hear the TV over your bouncing. You love for Daddy to throw you up in the air.
I have a confession: I bought a bow for baby sister recently and I tried it on you to see what having a girl will be like. With your long eye lashes and the pink bow, I could totally picture what your sister would look like. I promise it was a one time event!
The only time you are still is when you sleep and it’s exactly how Carson slept as a baby-on your belly with your booty in the air. It’s amazing how much you two favor as babies.
I’m guessing class clown will be awarded to you in school because you laugh at everything. It’s not just a giggle; it’s a full on belly laugh with your head thrown back. We love it! When you get going, Parker will stare at you like you have lost your mind, but he eventually joins you and starts laughing. Your laughter is contagious! It’s impossible to be around you and not be happy. I hope you always make people feel that way!
People always tell you that time flies by with children and that’s exactly how I feel about my babies. Maybe it’s because we know this is the last round of baby milestones for us or because this year has been absolutely insane, but the days are speeding by with you two. We are closer to your first birthday than your newborn days and I can’t believe it. You both bring so much joy to our family and I’m so glad God hand picked you for us. Happy 8 months!
