Our little nuggets are five months old! Actually, little might be the wrong word to use; chunky nuggets might be more appropriate! For starting out so little and having a hospital stay at 6 weeks and surgery, they have completely caught up and have the best little fat rolls!
Parker started sleeping through the night before Campbell did. I had made bets it would be the other way around when they were newborns because we called Parker the high maintenance one. Turns out, he had reflux and tummy issues and just didn’t feel good! Once we got those fixed (and stopped all the barf-hallelujah), he became a content little guy. This past month he has been sleeping through the night and has even slept until 9 a.m. a few times! I think his sleep routine is becoming more consistent over the past few weeks with a last bottle around 8 p.m. and waking up around 7-7:30 a.m. He doesn’t sleep as much during the day as Campbell; he is settling down to one nap in the morning and a longer in the afternoon.
Parker man, you are all smiles when you see us in the morning; actually, you are all smiles most of the time! Your little personality has really started to come out this past month. You love to look at us and smile. You are a nosy little guy and like to check out what’s going on around you. We ate out recently and you were too busy people watching to drink a bottle. You are trying to pull up when you are in the swing or sitting with us on the couch. You like sitting in the infant rocker and playing with all the toys; you get so excited and start kicking and cooing! Just this past week you have started sitting in the bumpo and like watching us. I will work out in the living room and you always just watch the entire time with an inquisitive look on your face. When you do get tired, you get fussy and love when we hold you and pat your booty. If we stop for a second, we hear about it quickly! You sleep with your arms above your head and legs sprawled out. This past week, you have started to try and roll from your back to your stomach a couple of times, but you are pretty content to just chill. You have rolled from your stomach to your back. You are a good little snuggle buddy and love to sit with us and will just look up and smile. You weighed in at 14 pounds and 6 ounces last week and are in the 10-25 % for weight.
Campbell turned a corner when he had surgery in February and all his food started staying down (we were covered in puke for two months). Once he could eat without getting sick, he started to put away the milk and it shows! And when he’s hungry, he will let you know. Immediately. There is no warning that he is about to get hungry. It’s a full out, shrill, feed me instantly cry. He has been sleeping through the night consistently for the past few weeks, but he woke up last night at 3:30 a.m. to eat, so he’s a bit of a wild card. We can’t keep this guy full! Parker will eat every 3-4 hours, but Campbell eats every 2-3. We started cereal recently and it went as expected; Campbell took right to it and ate and Parker was disgusted. If Campbell eats like this as a teenager, he will need a job to help us pay for his food!
Cambo, you like to eat and sleep. I think you get that from Nick! We always laugh at you when we go for a walk. Parker will look around and take it all in and you just stretch out and go to sleep. But you have started to change this past month and have really started to “talk” and laugh. You are sitting in the infant chair just cooing away right now. You will start laughing and get on a roll at certain times and it’s the sweetest little sound. You have the longest eyelashes, ones that girls would love to have! You rolled from your back to your stomach this past month and will get frustrated on your back until you can get over. I think you will be a stomach sleeper soon. I still make Daddy roll you to your back after you are asleep because it makes me nervous to have a stomach sleeper. Carson likes to crawl in the crib with both of you in the morning. When he gets in yours, he will bounce the mattress and you think this is hilarious. RSV hit you hard when you both had it in January and you still have issues with flare-ups, so we have a permanent breathing machine. Most of the time you take it like a champ now and will hold on to the mask like a total pro. You have a scar on your belly from your surgery, which Gigi uses to tell who you are! You have passed Parker in size again and weighed in at 15 pounds and 5.5 ounces at the end of April, which is the 25-50% for your age.
Most of the time, we have somewhat of a routine down with the two of you. However, there are times when you let us know we are very outnumbered. Y’all are starting to wake up at the exact same time in the morning. Totally fine on the weekend, but a little nuts when you both want to eat immediately and it’s just Mommy. I snapped this picture the other day when you both had a meltdown on Nick; sometimes we just have to laugh in the middle of it so we don’t cry with you! I was taking a bath last week and heard Nick say, “they are ganging up on me!” Basically, we don’t get bored around here with the two of you! I can only imagine what it will be like when you can crawl and run in opposite directions.
