I hated to hear about the death of Navy Blue Angels Marine Capt. Jeff Kuss this week. We made a trip to the Naval Air Station while we were in Pensacola, so we had just seen the Blue Angels perform and they were incredible.
We were telling the kids about the Blue Angels on the ride over and when he first spotted them, Carson looked at us and said, “that’s not an angel, that’s an airplane.” Very true, son!
They are loud as they go streaking over you, but it was incredible to see how close they fly together and how sharp they turn. I asked Nick if he thought we could fly without puking after seeing all their twists and turns. (My money is on him as the puker after riding roller coasters with him at Six Flags).
When they land, they come in together and are practically touching.
Raising these kids to love the red, white and blue!
This guy is the best Daddy/Uncle Nick in the world.
We spent some time in the National Naval Aviation Museum and the kids got to crawl around in planes, so they had a blast. And the entire day was free!
If you go to Pensacola, make sure you plan a day here-we loved it! Seeing all the sailors made me miss Granddad; he would have loved hearing about “his” Navy boys.
